We Made Ourselves a Home When We Didn't Know

We aren't so sure how to make big announcements for things we are excited for, but a blog and a cute video with our dogs seemed like as good a start as any.

We Made Ourselves a Home When We Didn't Know

As many of you know, we spent our winter squirreling away mushrooms and scraping together jobs and posting pictures from what seemed to be a secret studio project. The secret isn't really a secret. We have a new record coming out in January, and we are going to leak it from now til then. And we are starting today.

The record is call We Made Ourselves a Home When We Didn't Know, and it will include a few songs you may have heard live, and a few that have never touched human ears (dog ears only). It was made in East Nashville with our pal, Dave Coleman, and is currently in the mixing stages. It has all your favorite friends-- from the Toy Piano to the shaking wine bottles-- and we invited a few people friends, too, including the talented bass player and former roommate, Mike Shannon (who you likely remember from our love-hate for, as well as our Poutine blog) and former engineer/current friend and drummer, Chris Leonard (Nard). We even have a very special guest, who will remain nameless until we've teased this out long enough. Hint: he's nearly as famous as us. Which is to say, he's not. But he really should be.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves. For now, here's a music video for our song, "Baggage." It's a live recording, unlike what you will hear on the record. But that's a major drop-- this song will actually be on the record!

On an early morning after Mallory had emerged from the ER, Pud puked twice, and Butter and Scott held down the fort, we filmed this music video in the backyard of our pals, Isaac and Heidi Tucker of Tucker & Co. It features the whole fam damily of us, and was recorded by our new talented friends, Christian and Krista Imbesi of Cap Collective.

So here it is, the moment of waiting is over, since you've basically just heard about this and only had to wait one moment.
